Lot’s in the media today about the passing of Billy Graham – a true man of The Word and who I had a privilege of seeing and hearing at Ipswich football stadium in the 1980’s, during his last major visit to the UK I believe.
Many are reflecting and speaking of previous prophesies as to what the ‘calling home’ of this great saint of God might mean? Benny Hinn had apparently prophesied a number of years ago, that his death would release an ‘Elijah’ anointing on the church:
“The sign will be Billy Graham’s death. You are talking about a people in hiding, just like Elijah was in hiding, but when he came out, he challenged the prophets of Baal. And the Lord said to me in 1989, when Oral Roberts [died in 2009] and Billy Graham go home, it will be the key, it will be the sign of the beginning of the greatest revival. Oral is home and Billy is about to go home, and when he does, I’m telling you, the whole Church, get ready.”
I was reflecting on this earlier and felt God say that Billy Graham’s death is indeed a significant marker post at the end of this chapter of world history. Billy, perhaps the most significant man of ‘the Word’ in a generation, has gone to be with Jesus, THE WORD, in heaven. When Jesus ascended to heaven 2000 years ago, it was not long after that ‘the promised Holy Spirit’ came, in POWER!
I think we are about to see a ‘new thing’ happen. a new chapter, maybe the last in the book of the present earth, heralding a fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit on our Nation and World, which will lead to the promised return of Jesus.
