Are you in the Birmingham area this Saturday? Our friends at World Prayer Centre invite you to join for prayer:
We invite you to come to the next Prayershift gathering at Betel centre, Sherlock Street on Saturday 12 October from 10.30 am. We have a special focus – the Gospel. We are the prayer support for Advance 2020 taking place the same day, equipping 1500 evangelists and praying for a fresh move of God in our nation. We will also be praying for the nation as Brexit approaches. We look forward to seeing you there!
On Wednesday 2nd October, we invited a number of prayer leaders together from Birmingham to share the vision for the house of prayer for Birmingham. It was an amazing time together and there was an excitement for what God is doing in our city. We will now look to follow up with them as to how we can work together to raise a canopy of prayer over the city of Birmingham. It was felt that coming together in prayer will be a catalyst for unity in Birmingham. Pray for God to guide us in the next steps of the Birmingham house of prayer and for him to bring the people who have a passion for prayer for Birmingham.
Here’s a powerful story of forgiveness that has been in the news. Ex-Cop Amber Guyger shot her neighbour Botham Jean when she entered his apartment claiming she mistook it for her own. She thought she had come across an intruder. Her victim was a PWC accountant but also a youth pastor and worship leader. In court, her victim’s brother forgives her – in a powerful example of how forgiveness sets us free. He said “I’m not gonna say anything else. I think giving your life to Christ will be the best thing that Botham would want you to do. Again, I love you as a person. I don’t wish anything bad on you. “I don’t know if this is possible, but can I give her a hug?” Watch the video here.
