Justice – Declaration from Passion for the Nation

There is a real sense that God is currently shaking the nations by highlighting the subject of Justice.

Justice

“He is the Rock, His work is perfect; For all His ways are justice, A God of truth and without injustice; Righteous and upright is He”

We decree and declare God’s heart for justice, protection and blessing will be expressed and experienced by all men and women, from all walks of life, irrespective of race, colour, ethnicity, religion, or background. We speak and declare over this nation God’s purpose to display His Kingdom and His Kingship, that His Righteousness, justice, Truth and Mercy will be established throughout society.

We come into agreement with Psalm 103:6, “The Lord works righteousness and justice for all the oppressed” and we declare as this is a Year of Justice, His Spirit is moving in our land, shining His light into dark places, and we thank Him that what needs to be revealed will be revealed, whether in heart , attitude, action, establishment or culture, – that this is not an expansion of evil but a revealing of evil, that a reset is released and true justice come.

We confess where man’s greed, desire for power, ungodly stewardship, fear, foolishness, prejudice or pride has caused pain, grief and damage. We acknowledge You as the Sovereign God, King of Kings and Lord of Lords, and we put our trust in You.

We declare God’s people will carry and model His message of reconciliation and unity with power and sensitivity, that all communities divided through religion, culture, social status and political opinion will be healed and we confess our own sin, and that of the church, in the Name of Jesus.

Now, as changes occur and shifts made, we decree and declare an ending of every strategy of the enemy to bring fear, violence and destruction, that peace will rest upon our streets, and we speak acceptance and reconciliation into the lives of individuals. We agree even now His Spirit is moving, preparing the way, that the spirit of reconciliation will be released, healing not just the wounds and injustices of the past and the divisions of today, but the very culture of this land.

We come into agreement with God’s word in Ephesians 3: 14,15 TPT ‘that He is the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ…and the Father of every father and child in heaven and earth’, that all mankind is created through Him and by Him.

We declare this nation will stand in righteousness and justice, modelling and releasing the power of the message of Jesus – that He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life.

A Time to move Out – from Passion for the Nation

A Time to Move Out

By Suzanne Ferrett of Passion for the Nation on Thursday May 28th, 2020

As we stand on the edge of a new move of God’s Spirit, we declare over this land:

‘when you see the ark of the covenant of the Lord your God and the priests carrying it, you are to move out from your positions and follow it, then you will know which way to go.’ Joshua 3: 3

We declare as lockdown eases and transition begins a spirit of peace (prosperity, safety and well-being) will rest upon the cities, towns and streets of the nation. We speak health instead of sickness, life instead of death, prosperity against all lack in matters concerning finance and the economy, and that in these days of shaking, many will turn to Jesus.

We praise Him for the power of His love, and the power of His grace upon our lives and we choose to worship, to praise and to look upon His Face. We declare the song of the victory of Jesus will rise changing atmospheres and touching lives, that at this crossover moment, the Name of Jesus and the worship of Jesus will overwhelm the power of every other name. We declare as the people of God put their eyes upon Jesus, they will be filled with fresh joy, fresh strength and fresh courage. (adapted from October 2018)

The Lord is releasing new horizons, new territory and new vision to all those who will hunger and thirst for Him. In the Name of Jesus, we decree and declare in this nation, God’s people will move in accordance with the now word of God in their lives, taking hold, crossing over, ready to advance as a new level of sensitivity and obedience to His Spirit comes upon them. We declare His people will grasp the significance of the hour, the power of His love, His gospel, and His purpose within their lives.

Now Lord, at this Pentecost weekend, we agree, across this land, Your people will be positioned in every way, open and expectant, in heart and in spirit, for what Your Spirit will do and we say ‘Lord Come.’

We continue to declare in this nation, leaders from all political parties, all Government ministers, civil servants, scientists, researchers, economists and all advisors will work as a team with humility and mutual respect and we specifically speak strength to Boris Johnson.

We declare the voice of God’s wisdom will be heard over every other voice concerning all the current decisions, that His strategies and solutions will be recognised and implemented, rightly dividing between the health and safety of individuals and the economy of the nation.

God’s Miracle at Dunkirk – a reflection by Richard Gamble of The Wall

When Call the Nation to Prayer came to be back in 2016, one of the very first reflections was about whether there could be a national call to prayer. This page was created on this website: ctntp.uk/other-insights/the-miracle-of-dunkirk

We have just received an email circulation containing a stirring video, on the same subject, from our friend Richard Gamble, who heads up The Wall of Answered Prayer.

The Wall with wording

God’s Miracle at Dunkirk

On the 24th of May it will be the 80th anniversary of the King of England calling the nation to pray. We have created a video that captures the story of the miracles that happened at Dunkirk. Please use it as you deem appropriate. Our prayer is that God would be glorified in the sharing of this story.

Moving Forward -A Declaration from Passion for the Nation

Moving Forward

By Suzanne Ferrett of Passion for the Nation on Monday May 18th, 2020

‘Of the increase of his government and peace there will be no end’   Isaiah 9:6,7

We speak health instead of sickness, life instead of death, prosperity against all lack in matters concerning finance and the economy, and that in these days of shaking, many will turn to Jesus. We declare as lock down eases and transition begins, a spirit of peace (prosperity, safety and well-being) will rest upon the cities, towns and streets of this nation.

We speak the revelation of the triumph of God’s mercy over every individual, ministry, businessman or market place leader struggling at this time and we declare His people will arise and take hold of the grace and strength He is releasing from Heaven at this time.

We decree and declare that His mercy and His grace will overwhelm every self-judgement, the judgement of others, every feeling of failure, despair, disillusionment or loss, that fresh joy, fresh strength and fresh life would come to them, positioning them for the way ahead.

We call them into His Presence, to seek His face, that fresh vision will come, that every shift, door and step He would release to them for this time, will be both recognised and fulfilled.

We speak to the church in the Name of Jesus, we declare “This is the Season of Revival,” and we call His people into a revelation of the shift of season which has taken place.  We thank Him for the equipping of His church, and the work of His Spirit worked in individuals through this lock down time, and we decree and declare, in this day a fresh urgency will come to His people, that every gift He has given – both in the natural and in the spiritual – will be recognised and utilised, and we speak courage and boldness in Jesus Name.

We continue to declare in this nation, leaders from all political parties, all Government ministers, civil servants, scientists, researchers, economists and all advisors will work as a team with humility and mutual respect. We specifically declare the voice of God’s wisdom will be heard over every other voice concerning the current situation, that His strategies and solutions will be recognised and implemented, as they rightly discern beyond the power of men’s words to the wisdom that comes from Heaven.

‘British public turn to prayer as one in four tune in to religious services’

Did you see this on-line article published by The Guardian last Sunday? This is so encouraging! The nation is being called to prayer!

download.png

theguardian.com/world/2020/may/03/british-public-turn-to-prayer-as-one-in-four-tune-in-to-religious-services

The Text of the main article is also reproduced below:

A quarter of adults in the UK have watched or listened to a religious service since the coronavirus lockdown began, and one in 20 have started praying during the crisis, according to a new survey.

The findings of the poll reinforce indications of an increase in the numbers of people turning to faith for succour amid uncertainty and despair.

The Church of England has said that unexpectedly high numbers of people are tuning into online or broadcast services, and 6,000 people phoned a prayer hotline in its first 48 hours of operation. Other faiths have also reported surges in people engaging with online religious activities as places of worship have been closed during the lockdown.

The survey of more than 2,000 people, commissioned by the Christian aid agency Tearfund and carried out last weekend, found that a third of young adults aged between 18 and 34 had watched or listened to an online or broadcast religious service, compared with one in five adults over the age of 55.

One in five of those who have tuned into services in the past few weeks say they have never gone to church.

The most frequent subjects of prayers since the lockdown has been family (53%), friends (34%), thanking God (24%), the person praying (28%), frontline services (27%), someone unwell with Covid-19 (20%), and other countries with Covid-19 (15%).

Prepare

Network for Revival May 2020

We have looked at two motives for prayer for revival:

Pleading the love of God: He loves his church and wants to bless it. He loves unbelievers and doesn’t want any to be lost. See http://networkforrevival.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/Prepare-17-February-2020-1.pdf

Pleading the name of God: The name of God is being gravely dishonoured by the failings of the church and the godlessness of society. See http://networkforrevival.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Prepare-18-March-2020.pdf

This month we look at the third motive for prayer for revival.

Praying for Revival: Pleading the Kingdom of God

It is clear that Jesus wanted us to pray for his return because he taught we should pray “Your kingdom come” (Mt 6:10; Lk 11:2). The kingdom will only come in its fullness when Jesus returns. However I think we tend not to appreciate that this is a prayer which includes praying for the King to come. We tend to think it means more or less the same as “Your will be done.” We need to realise that the Lord’s Prayer includes a prayer for the Second Coming.

The early church prayed for the return of Jesus

Paul prays “Come, Lord” (1 Cor 16:22). The Greek he uses is Maranatha, the transliteration of an Aramaic word. Professor Leon Morris comments [i] “It must have expressed a sentiment that the early Church regarded as supremely important, else it would never have been taken over in this way by the Greek-speaking Christians … it expresses the eager longing felt by the Church in those early days for the speedy return of the Lord.” [ii]

Jesus says in Rev 22:20 says “Yes, I am coming soon” and the Bride (the church) responds “Amen. Come, Lord Jesus.” Here are some scholarly comments on this verse:

· Professor G B Caird comments “No one who has read this book can have any illusions about what the prayer is asking. It is a prayer that Christ will come again to win in his faithful servant the victory which is both Calvary and Armageddon.” [iii]

· Dr Philip Edgcumbe Hughes comments “His coming, moreover, should not only be looked for but also longed for by the believer, for it will bring the consummation cf our salvation and the completion of our conformity to his likeness (f. 1 Jn. 3:2; 2 Cor. 3:18, Phil 3:20f.), indeed, the renewal of all things (21:5). And so the fervent response of the Bride, longing for the appearance of the beloved Bridegroom, is Amen: Come, Lord Jesus!” [iv]

· Professor W Hendriksen comments ““Christ has promised to come quickly (cf. Rev. 22: 7, 12) and the bride, that is, the Church, responds by saying, Be coming.’ It is an ardent prayer to which the bride is moved by the Holy Spirit. Spirit and bride always work together (cf. Rom. 8: 16). They are constantly saying, ‘Be coming.’” [v]

What these commentators are saying is that the prayer for Jesus’ return in Rev 22:20 (and 1 Cor 16:22) is a fervent, passionate, eager longing for the return of Jesus and the prayer was regarded as supremely important. Bear in mind that Revelation was written some 65 years after Jesus died. So, even at that stage, the church was still earnestly praying for the return of Jesus as Jesus himself urged in “The Lord’s Prayer.” But how many Christians are earnestly praying for the return of Jesus today?

We need to make praying for Jesus’ return a priority. We regularly use the Aramaic words Amen and Hallelujah in our prayers. We now need to use the Aramaic word Maranatha regularly.

What has this got to do with prayer for revival?

There will be revival in the End Times as Joel predicted. Yes, Peter applied Joel’s prophecy to Pentecost but we need to remember that many biblical prophecies have more than one fulfilment. It is clear from Peter’s quotation that the prophecy goes beyond what happened at Pentecost to a major fulfilment in the End Times: ‘“In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams. Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days, and they will prophesy. I will show wonders in the heavens above and signs on the earth below, blood and fire and billows of smoke. The sun will be turned to darkness and the moon to blood before the coming of the great and glorious day of the Lord. And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved” (Acts 2:17-21).

Praying for revival is hastening the return of Christ because it brings holiness to believers and brings unbelievers to faith. Jesus makes it clear that bringing people to faith throughout the world needs to happen before his return “And the gospel must first be preached to all nations” (Mk 13:10). This is not only fulfilled through normal evangelism but through revival. Peter makes it clear that God is delaying the return of Christ to give time for people to repent. “The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance. But the day of the Lord will come like a thief” (2 Peter 3:9-10). Revival is the most effective means of bringing many people to repentance. So praying for revival and praying for the return of Christ are intimately related. We are not praying for the Lord to send revival but for him to come in revival. Revival is God.

Revival will bring the Church to repentance, to become more like the Bride of Christ for whom he is returning. So we hasten the return of Christ through holiness. “But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything done in it will be laid bare. Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be? You ought to live holy and godly lives as you look forward to the day of God and speed its coming” (2 Peter 3:10-12). Peter said “Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord, and that he may send the Messiah, who has been appointed for you – even Jesus. Heaven must receive him until the time comes for God to restore everything, as he promised long ago through his holy prophets” (Acts 3:19-21). The Jewish rabbis in those days spoke of the need of repentance to bring about the coming of Messiah. For example they said: “If Jews would genuinely repent for one day, the Messiah would come.” So in praying for revival, which brings believers to much deeper holiness, we are speeding the return of Christ.

We should not be lulled into a false sense of apathy, thinking Jesus’ return must be a long time away. Looking at what is going on in the world it could all happen more quickly than we think. Let’s not think of Jesus’ return being at some fixed date in the future, but as an event which we can hasten by our prayers and obedience and particularly by our prayers and preparation for Revival.

A RELEVANT PRAYER

Maranatha – Come, O Lord. Come in revival to purify your Bride. Come in revival to bring many to repentance. Then come to manifest your End Time glory, majesty and power. Come to manifest your holiness and justice. Come to gather, protect and bless your saints. Come to destroy evil, idolatry and oppression. Come to disarm, restrain and destroy the evil one. Come to establish your rule of peace and justice on earth.

Remember that the devil is trying hard to:

· Prevent Revival.

· Undermine Christians’ submission to Scripture (especially in the area of sexuality).

· Stop Christians proclaiming biblical truth by them being accused of extremism and hate-speech.

· Destroy the church’s reputation (especially in the area of sexual abuse).

· Cause churches to die of old age

All of which would undermine God’s rule – his Kingdom. So pray regularly “Your kingdom come. Maranatha.”

Does the Bible predict an End Time Revival?

Acts 2:16-21 links a great outpouring of the Spirit with apocalyptic events which refer to the End Times: “wonders in the heavens above and signs on the earth below, blood and fire and billows of smoke. The sun will be turned to darkness and the moon to blood before the coming of the great and glorious day of the Lord.” These did not happen at or after Pentecost. They are reminiscent of Matthew 24:29 and Revelation 6:12 which relate such events to the End Times. Biblical prophecy often has more than one fulfilment. It seems clear that the Joel prophecy (Joel 2:28-32) quoted in Acts 2:16-21 was not completely fulfilled at Pentecost. So it is not correct, as some believe, to think that special outpourings of the Spirit ended at Pentecost or soon afterwards.

I hope you are finding more time to pray for revival during the lock down.

Be assured of my prayers for you, especially at this stressful time.

God bless you,

Tony

See https://christianteaching.org.uk/blog/uncategorized/secularism-and-populism-undermine-the-foundation-of-society/

SECULARISM seeks to undermine Christianity which is fundamental to the establishment of the rule of law, democracy and human rights. I quote agnostics and atheists who agree with this. I quote David Alton who said that by dissociating “religion and liberty, democracy and faith, we have unstitched the fabric that holds a society together and endangered its future.” POPULISM says a country’s “true people” are in conflict with outsiders and the elite. It whips up emotion to re-establish the will of the people. It tends to disregard democracy by fear mongering about our being in crisis, promoting conspiracy theories, undermining trust in institutions and the media. Populists might relate closely to Christians but it is not a Christian movement. We need to recognise that what is happening through secularism, populism and the growth of authoritarianism is a trend towards a godless dictatorship.

Prophetic Word for Great Britain & a Canopy of Prayer

Prophetic Word for Great Britain and Updates

Suzanne FerrettBy Suzanne Ferrett of Passion for the Nation (and team member of CTNTP), on Wednesday May 6th, 2020

Hi everyone, a couple of new items.

Firstly for those who have not seen it yet, Cindy Jacobs has given a prophetic word to Great Britain: [it appears below and is just 2 mins 19 secs. long, or] please follow this link – https://youtu.be/za0b6-nDaRs – to listen. This is very significant and a National Day of Prayer is being planned as a result.

Raising a Canopy of Prayer over the Nation

Also, again  thank you for all the hours we covered collectively as we prayed for our nation up until Easter. We are living in very significant times and although there is a great deal of challenge, it is a moment of extra-ordinary opportunity and change for the church, individually and corporately.

After the three weeks ended at Easter, I felt we needed a break to hear afresh from God. There are a lot of prayer initiatives taking place, some large scale, some just through churches and my question has been, was the prayer shield just for those three weeks or should it continue?

This season up to Pentecost is very important, so we have re-opened the Prayer Shield starting yesterday May 4th for the four weeks up to May 31st, Pentecost Sunday. This gives us 672 hours to fill.  There is great acceleration coming for God’s people, but also we have the challenges of Covid-19, of the economy, and alongside – God is re-aligning nations across our world, of which Brexit is a part.

God is calling His people to prayer, and we would love you to sign up so that you have a specific time, whether as an individual or a group,  again please follow the link – passionforthenation.uk/raising-a-mantle-of-prayer-over-the-nation/

Every blessing
